Reno Air Conditioning and Heating terminology

In Reno HVAC, we through around terms like BTU and EER, we know what these figures mean, but for you the average northern Nevadan you may not be familiar with these terms.

EER – Stands for Energy Efficiency Ratio, is used to describe the ratio between energy used and energy output. The higher the number, the better a unit uses energy to heat or cool.

BTU – often used to describe the energy content of the A/C or Reno heating unit. It stands for British Thermal Unit. Most A/C units run between 5000 – 18,000 BTUs, 18,000 is considered to be a high-powered air conditioning unit.
